1772 -  San Luis Obispo was founded by Father Junipero Serra

1804 - the city population grows to 832

1819 - they registered 8900 cattle in its possession

1845 - Governor Pio Pico sells everything but the church for $510 dollars

1822 - Mexico won independence from Spain and owns California

1872 - during the 100th anniversary improvements  happen 

1876 - the style steeple was added during the moderation of the mission

1933 - the real improvements happen
